Allendale, CA

Right along Interstate 505 within Solano County, you’ll find the area of Allendale. With just over 1,500 people, the area serves as a calm refuge from the hustle and bustle of the Bay. Still, its proximity to so many larger cities allow people to have the best of both worlds: access to the benefits of the big city, but a quiet home and safe neighborhood to come home to. Solano County is known as one of California’s best-kept secrets, thanks to its fantastic vineyards, gorgeous countryside, family-friendly attractions and theme parks, and rich history.

If you’re the adventurous type, Six Flags is right around the corner from Allendale. There are thrill rides for the most daring visitors, family rides for those who aren’t quite as daring, and even some thrills for smaller kids. There’s a zoo on-site, too, with attractions incorporated to help kids learn about wildlife.

For an adventure a little closer to nature, the Bay Area Ridge Trail serves as a unique treat just a few minutes from Allendale. The 390-miles multi-use trail runs along hills and mountain ridgelines, overlooking the water in some areas and forests in others. There are events along the trail for bikers and equestrians, some of which raise money to preserve the trail itself. Whether you like to walk, run, bike, or ride horses, there’s something for everyone along the Bay Area Ridge Trail.

A short drive within the county can take you on a trip back in time. The Western Railway Museum is dedicated to showing California as it was 100 years ago, as electric railway transportation was just starting to change the nation. The Rio Vista Junction and 22 empty acres around the site were chosen to serve as a living history museum in 1985. Today, families from around the country visit to take an 11-mile trip that teaches them the state’s history.

Around the corner from Allendale, you can also visit the Jelly Belly Candy Company, taking a tour of the facility and trying out as many flavors as you can before the sugar high stops you from thinking straight. Or, to get a different type of giddy, you can spend a day trying out the area’s Cabernet Sauvignon Chardonnay, Petite Sirah, and Merlot while touring the American Viticultural Area within the Suisun Valley.

Allendale may be little-known, but it still gets a mention in American literature. Ray Bradbury’s science fiction short story, “There Will Come Soft Rains,” takes place in Allendale. We at Cascade Pest Systems also find the town worthy of note and are proud to call the folks living there our friends and neighbors.

Cascade Pest Systems is a local company owned and operated by a family right here in your community. We’ve been around for more than three decades, and that’s possible because we’ve built a trusting relationship with our clients, and we get the job done right. We still work hard to keep that trust.
