Termite Treatment

Termite Treatment

Small Bug, Big Losses
Termites may be small creatures, but their impact nationwide is massive. The California Pest Control Board says wood-destroying insects cost home and business owners in the United States upwards of 5 billion dollars a year, one billion of which comes from California and Hawaii alone. Ninety-five percent of that damage is carried out by termites. If an inspection reveals your home or business has a termite infestation, there's no sense beating around the bush – the longer you wait, the more damage these bugs will do.

First, our licensed technicians will form a plan to address the exact type of termite causing damage, factoring in how to treat the features of your specific property best. Though we will do area-specific partial treatments upon request, we recommend treating the entire building even if the termites seem to be localized in one area.

Subterranean Termites
If we find Subterranean Termites, there are several treatment options to choose from. Since every building and every customer are different, we will pick the method best suited to address your property effectively, and we will explain our decisions and plans with you before acting. The most common treatment is a barrier applied within the soil, where the termites are digging through to reach your property. Termite baits with a slow-acting active ingredient may also be used in some cases. The treatment will include both the inside and outside of the structure. Outside, our technicians will either form a trench or drill half-inch-wide holes spaced about a foot apart, which we then fill with either vinyl or a concrete caulk that is color-matched to the surface being treated. One sure sign of Subterranean Termites are mud tubes running up from the foundation to the house. If these are present, call us right away.

Drywood Termites
If our technicians find evidence of Drywood Termites, we may suggest fumigating the structure. Sure-fire signs of Drywood Termites include hollowed-out wood, the appearance of a sawdust-like substance called frass, which is actually termite droppings, and piles of discarded wings. The California Structural Pest Control Board says fumigation is the most effective way to get rid of both the visible infestations and termites that a technician may not otherwise be able to reach. That latter part is why it's so important to treat the whole building – treating only one portion leaves the risk that there could be bugs hiding somewhere.

Fumigation can only be done by experts registered with the California SPCB, and the chemicals we use are approved by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. You can be confident our methods are not only effective but perfectly safe. localized treatments can be performed if necessary due to conditions that prevent a fumigation.

All of our complete treatments and fumigation are warrantied for a minimum period of 2 years. Call us today for a free estimate.
